Cross-country Skiing

Rossburn Cross Country Ski Club

The Rossburn Cross Country Ski Club is on a mission to expand Rossburn’s cross-country skiing options. The club has two trail systems open to the public and no admission fee. Donations are welcome.

  1. At Rossman Lake, with over 10 km of trails on the rolling hills of the golf course and surrounding area. (Google Maps)
  2. At 9 Finger Ranch, with 8km+ of classic ski trails in forested rolling terrain. (Google Maps)

Go to ccsam.ca/where-to-ski/trails/groups/rossburn/  for trail maps, trail conditions, information on membership and club activities.

You can also follow the club on their Facebook page for updates on the club’s activities and trail conditions.

Deep Lake Trail (Riding Mountain National Park)

Go for a ski in Riding Mountain National Park (~20 min drive from Rossburn) at Deep Lake trail. Maintained for winter use by volunteers, the trail follows the access road into Deep Lake Campground to a warmup shelter. This 10km return trail is usually groomed for skate and classic skiing. (Google Maps)

Once done with Rossburn’s trails, you have a chance to do more cross-country skiing in the area. Check the brochure “Get Cross-country Skiing” and head out to Moose Lake Ski Trail or Birtle Ski Trail (~35 min drive each).

Snowmobiling

Rossburn is a great destination for snowmobiles! The official Snoman Inc. snowmobiling trail runs directly through Rossburn. For trail use, you need to have a Snopass. Snowtraxx Snowmobile Club Inc. grooms and maintains the trails throughout the winter. Watch for Trail No. 13, No. 10 and No. 538 for exploring Rossburn and area. For trail conditions, please check Snoman’s interactive trail map. From trail No.13 running through Rossburn, you can directly access the gas bar (signed out).

Ice fishing

Manitoba is no stranger to the growing ‘ice fishing revolution’, nor to the world class ice fisheries that annually entice thousands of fanatical ice anglers.

Hunt Fish Manitoba

Therefore, it is not surprising that Rossburn’s lakes are suitable for ice fishing and well used during the winter months. Plan your fishing adventure on our two Parklands Championship Trophy Lakes, Patterson Lake and Tokaryk Lake, or head out to Rossman Lake or Arrow Lake.

Snowshoeing

A 20-minute drive from Rossburn brings you into Riding Mountain National Park where you have access to Flat Lake Trail which is maintained for winter use by volunteers. This 2.4 km loop is starting at Deep Lake Entrance and rated as easy trail. (Google Maps)
