Riding Mountain National Park is one of the main attractions close to Rossburn. With over 3.000 km2, the national park offers endless opportunities to explore nature and outdoors. Go for a hike, discover the park with your bike or on horseback, spend a relaxing day at the beach or stroll the only townsite, Wasagaming, within park limits.
Western end of Riding Mountain National Park
Rossburn is located South of the Western end of the national park and offers easy access to explore this less traveled part of the park through three official entrances within short driving distance.

Deep Lake
Visit Deep Lake, a beautiful lake close to Rossburn (~25 min). It is suitable for fishing and (non-motorized) boating. Or you spend a relaxing lake day there – sitting in the famous red chairs while having a campfire going?
At Bob Hill Lake, you find a day use area with picnic tables and fire pits directly at the lakeshore.
Trails: Hiking, biking and horseback riding
Being a less frequented and crowded part of the national park, the Western end also has great opportunities for the more adventurous hiker, biker or rider. Click here to read more about the trails in this end.

You find a front country campsite on a first-come-first-serve base at Deep Lake. Several beautiful backcountry campsites are accessible from the three entrances as well. Lake Audy/ Bison enclosure
Lake Audy is approximately 55 minutes from Rossburn by car. The Lake Audy Bison Enclosure is home to around 40 plains bison. Watch these impressive animals from the viewing point or drive through the enclosure with your car. Lake Audy has a front country campground, offers access to a variety of trails and invites to spend a day at the lake. Please note that Lake Audy is still partly under construction (May 2023). Check with official park channels for the current status.
Wasagaming/ Clear Lake

Parks Canada
Wasagaming is the only townsite within the national park’s borders. From Rossburn, it takes you around an hour of driving. Stroll through the shops, have lunch in one of the restaurants, get some ice cream or spend the day at Clear Lake’s beach. Enjoy the scenic drive on Hwy 10 up north towards Dauphin and access a variety of trails, lakes, day use areas and campsites. Clear Lake has several swimming areas for you to enjoy and there are boat cruises offered on the lake. Rent a bike or a kayak and get active. During the winter months, it is a little bit calmer. Some businesses are open year-round. Add cross country skiing, fat biking or ice skating to your to-do-list.
